Overview

Robota is an AI-assisted hotel review analytics platform. It helps hospitality teams monitor guest reviews, understand sentiment, and respond to feedback. I led frontend architecture and implementation during my work with DataIns.

The product analyzes hotel review data collected through scraping and was used by hotels in Horizon Group during that period. My contribution was application and frontend engineering, not ownership of the underlying AI models.

Problem & constraints

Hotels work with reviews across online travel agencies. Robota makes that feedback usable through operational and analytical workflows. The frontend needed to support those workflows while moving beyond a legacy React architecture.

Engineering decisions

I worked on migrating the application to Next.js App Router, establishing a foundation for server rendering and longer-term dashboard development.

The frontend work spanned:

  • Hospitality dashboards and AI-assisted review understanding.
  • Authentication and tenant-aware frontend logic.
  • Landing page and blog surfaces.
  • Reusable UI with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui.
  • Async and client state with TanStack Query and Zustand.
  • Validation with Zod and type-safe integration patterns.

Outcome

The migration improved maintainability and gave the product a clearer foundation for server rendering and dashboard workflows. Patterns from Robota informed my later frontend architecture work, including Windsight.
